BrXndScape is a pretty amazing resource to spend some time with for anyone in the content/media/brand space who is wondering how AI can help them with their work. It’s a fairly comprehensive rundown (landscape) of all the AI tools out there that can aid in content creation.
These are tools that:
Generate audio, either from existing recordings or from scratch.
Create and develop interactive graphics and visuals.
Enhance and create images, either from existing photographs or from scratch.
Make it easier to manage and deploy AI-enabled applications and services.
If you're in the content world and not thinking about how these tools will affect your work, I worry you will be caught very off guard sooner than you think. Things are moving fast. Here’s an interesting piece in the New York Times about how one movie maker’s influence is felt in other movies and then expressed via stills made with an insane creative AI.
I’m struggling to wrap my head around another major technology shift, and this one feels a lot bigger than say the arrival of social media or NFTs. I’m finding it exciting at times, daunting and overwhelming. So if you feel like that as well, you’re not alone. It’s also a new opportunity though, to play with new tools and to experiment. I do believe that those that learn to have the most fun with these new AI tools, will go the farthest with them.
Here’s the week in good work.
Church of the Long Run
Tracksmith just dropped a l o n g video. No words. No acting. Just a woman going for a long run. It’s meditative and a nice homage to the act of the long run. It’s something you have to sink into and get in the rhythm of and this video invites you to feel that. I love it. It’s also a nice example of Slow Television. Check it out on the Tracksmith site here.
Oatly At It Again
Calling attention again to the good people at Oatly for some quality video work. God, these are good.
RIP U.S.S. Boatly.
The High Life
From Patagonia Films, here's the story of the final season of Chamonix's oldest refuge hut.
Fleet Foxes Live in Boston
This one brings me back for a few reasons: Fleet Foxes nostalgia and memories of seeing a bunch of shows at this great little tent venue right on Boston Harbor, many summers ago. Glad the band posted this.
That’s it!
Really enjoyed this. The short film links are gold. Thank you. Barrie
It dropped faster than anyone could have predicted and it's going to disrupt many things we thought would be unmovable; however, rather than fear this technology we should harness it right now to enhance what we make.
