(For the Love of the Point and Shoot)
CONSIDERATIONS
One of the keys to keeping the internet from driving you insane is to find the truly great hidden gems out there, which there are no shortage of. The problem: It seems like it’s getting harder and harder to find them.
So I wanted to share a few of the places I visit that consistently surface interesting work in hopes they may also help you prevent internet insanity syndrome.
They are:
Tonic: A new app I’ve been using that delivers non click-bait headlines daily, that’s turned me onto numerous outlets I didn’t know about before.
Redef: Daily newsletters with lots of great links.
Why This is Interesting: A daily newsletter of, you guessed it, interesting things. Very thoughtfully put together.
Lunch Reads: links sent out for your lunch reading pleasure.
Pocket: My own way to save links and find other good links out there. Since leaving Facebook, Pocket has become more and more useful.
Ten Things Newsletter: A weekly newsletter of links, playlists, and other goodness.

LISTEN
I’m a bit of a broken record promoting Malcolm Gladwell’s Broken Record podcast, but it’s really good. This season kicks off with a visit to Jack White’s Detroit home for a lively discussion and some live porch jams with The Raconteurs. Oh and there’s a playlist featuring all the music White, Gladwell and Rick Rubin chat about. Truely click/listen-worthy stuff.
Listen to the podcast here.

With apologies because I don’t usually share viral videos like this (and I’m guessing you’ve seen it already on Facebook), but I was blown away by this.
Life is incredible.
